Bucs coach Lovie Smith: Jameis Winston ‘right on schedule’

Third-year pro Mike Glennon took the first-team snaps throughout the team activity, and Winston worked with the next team. The coach thinks in letting his players get their spots, although coach Lovie Smith said Winston has gotten some just work in OTAs. “Jameis and everyone, you’ve got to earn your position. Jameis is getting his firstteam reps,” Smith explained. “You guys are here on Thursday. There is Wednesday, and then he had been with the group afterward, and thus do not look too much into that. We simply need the people that we think can play to have reps, and we want them to utilize lots of mixes. Jameis is close to schedule. We aren’t disappointed or anything like that.” Winston said he does not expect anything to be handed to him. “I never was handed any such thing in my life,” Winston explained. “How I had been raised, I always had to earn everything. The principal issue is to generate the admiration of most of these players .” Winston said Glennon is currently helping him grow. “Simply watching Mike and visiting the things he can, I am wanting to glance at everything he has because he’s been doing great,” Winston explained. “I appear to him, and what he can are magnificent. It’s always better to own a great guy before you personally, and it just can help you push yourself” Veteran wide receiver Vincent Jackson stated the newcomer was keeping a low profile at the locker room although Winston was famous at Florida State for his gregarious personality. “When you’re a beginner, you are supposed to be in the back ground until it is the right time to measure up,” Smith explained. “It is not Jameis’ time nonetheless. It will come, however, shortly”
